Percutek Tycheseal — Detailed Product Review

This page takes a closer look at the Percutek Tycheseal aortic stent-graft platform: the design philosophy, delivery systems and size portfolio of the AAA (EVAR) and TAA (TEVAR) systems. The information below is compiled from the manufacturer's product documentation and is intended as general product information. Indications, sizing and use are always governed by the manufacturer's instructions for use and the treating physician's judgement.

The Percutek platform at a glance

Beijing Percutek Therapeutics is a medical device manufacturer focused on the endovascular treatment of aortic disease. Its Tycheseal stent-graft family covers the two core endovascular indications on a single platform: the AAA system for abdominal aortic and aortoiliac aneurysms (EVAR) and the TAA system for thoracic aortic aneurysm and Stanford Type B dissection (TEVAR). The platform has a growing international footprint; in Türkiye it is represented by Korvia Medikal.

  • Manufacturer: Beijing Percutek Therapeutics Inc.
  • Indication coverage: EVAR (abdominal aorta) and TEVAR (thoracic aorta) in one platform
  • Türkiye representation: Korvia Medikal
  • Shared design language: soft multifilament polyester graft fabric, optimized stent-spring spacing, hydrophilic-coated delivery systems with tip-capture proximal fixation

TAA thoracic system (TEVAR): design review

The thoracic stent graft is designed for the endovascular treatment of diseases of the descending thoracic aorta, including aneurysm and dissection. The design pairs flexibility with controlled radial force, so the graft can follow the curve of the aortic arch region while still sealing in relatively short landing zones.

  • Short and long stent springs with optimized spacing for flexibility along the aortic curve
  • Soft, seamless multifilament polyester graft fabric
  • Proximal and distal stent springs with differentiated radial force
  • Dedicated proximal and distal sealing-spring configurations, designed to seal in aortic necks from 10 mm
  • Multi-peak proximal and distal stent design, intended to help prevent Type I endoleak and reduce secondary entry tears in dissection
  • Connector-free, variable-height stents that self-conform 360° to the vessel wall

TAA delivery system and size portfolio

The delivery system is built for predictable, staged deployment. The proximal end of the graft is held by a tip-capture mechanism, allowing the graft to be repositioned until the third stent arch is released — a meaningful margin of control when landing close to the arch vessels. Straight and tapered configurations cover a wide anatomical range.

  • Introduction profile from 18 Fr (configuration-dependent); 830 mm working length
  • Sheath catheter with full hydrophilic coating
  • Tip-capture proximal fixation; repositionable until the third stent arch is released

AAA abdominal system (EVAR): design review

The abdominal system is a three-part modular stent graft for infrarenal abdominal aortic and aortoiliac aneurysms. Its signature feature is active proximal fixation: a laser-cut proximal spring with anchoring hooks engages the aortic wall above the aneurysm, supporting positional stability in short and angulated necks.

  • Three-part modular design (bifurcated main body plus iliac legs) to manage complex aortoiliac anatomy
  • Laser-cut proximal spring with hooks for active fixation
  • Proximal waveform sealing designed to help reduce Type I endoleak risk
  • Optimized stent-spring spacing and soft multifilament polyester fabric
  • Anatomical envelope: proximal neck ≥ 10 mm, infrarenal angulation ≤ 75°, proximal aortic diameters 20–32 mm, iliac diameters 8–20 mm

AAA delivery system and modular portfolio

The AAA system is delivered through a low-profile, fully hydrophilic-coated catheter with tip-capture proximal fixation. The modular portfolio — main bodies, iliac legs, aortic extensions and elongation pieces — lets the physician assemble a device matched to each patient's anatomy.

  • Low-profile introduction from 16 Fr for the main body (limbs lower); 750 mm working length
  • Sheath catheter with hydrophilic coating; tip-capture proximal fixation

Graft material: why multifilament polyester?

Woven polyester is one of the longest-established materials in vascular grafts. Tycheseal uses a soft multifilament polyester weave: the soft fabric conforms to the vessel wall and follows the stent springs without kinking, while the seamless, low-profile construction keeps bulk out of the delivery system. Combined with optimized spring spacing, the fabric is intended to support both flexibility and durable exclusion of the aneurysm sac.

What this review means in practice

Specifications describe a device; outcomes come from matching the device to the right patient with the right plan. Whether a Tycheseal system suits a given anatomy is always the treating physician's decision, based on cross-sectional imaging and the manufacturer's instructions for use. Korvia supports that decision in Türkiye with case planning, device sizing, procedural readiness, on-site clinical support and continuous product availability.

Frequently asked questions

What is an aortic stent?+

An aortic stent / stent graft is designed to support the aortic lumen and re-establish blood flow; use is subject to manufacturer instructions for use.

What is a stent graft?+

A stent graft is an endovascular device, a metal frame with a fabric cover, that supports a diseased aortic segment from within.

What is EVAR?+

EVAR is the minimally invasive repair of an abdominal aortic aneurysm using a stent graft delivered through the vessels. Suitability depends on anatomical evaluation and physician judgement.

What is TEVAR?+

TEVAR treats thoracic aortic disease, such as aneurysm and dissection, with an endovascular stent graft. The indication is determined by clinical evaluation.

What is an endoleak?+

An endoleak is persistent blood flow into the aneurysm sac after stent graft placement. Depending on its type it may require surveillance or further intervention, as assessed by the physician.
